Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and Voca ("Voca", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Voca mobile app or this website (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (and the age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Your account

You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. Tell us promptly at support@voca-learn.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service in any way that breaches applicable law.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract source data from the Service except as permitted by law.
• Use the Service to abuse, harass, or harm others, or to generate harmful, illegal, or sexually explicit content.
• Interfere with the integrity of the Service (e.g. denial-of-service, exploiting bugs to bypass paywalls).

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

4. Subscriptions and auto-renewal

Voca Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription. The price, billing period, and free-trial duration are shown in the app at the point of purchase.

• Payment. Charges are made by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) to the account associated with your device at the moment you confirm the purchase.
• Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the new period begins.
• Managing your subscription. You can view, change, or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings at any time.
• Free trial. If your plan includes a free trial, the trial period converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where the law applies.
• Refunds. Refund requests are governed by Apple's and Google's policies. You can usually request a refund directly through your store. We will help where we can — email support@voca-learn.com.

5. Content and intellectual property

The Service, including its content, design, and software, is owned by Voca and its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial language learning.

You retain rights in the content you submit (for example, your speech recordings and transcripts). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use that content to operate and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. AI-generated content

Voca uses large language models to generate conversations, feedback, and corrections. These models can occasionally produce inaccurate or unexpected output. Use the Service as a learning tool — not as a source of legal, medical, or other professional advice.

7. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Voca will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or £50 if you paid us nothing.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from inside the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales for any dispute, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring the dispute in your local courts.
